Why is CrateSync free?
Over the years I've used a lot of tools built by other DJs and developers — tools that quietly made my workflow better, smoother, more me. Nobody charged me for most of them. They were just out there, made by people who wanted to give something to the community.
CrateSync is my version of that. I saw a problem, I built a solution, and it felt wrong to put a price on it. This is simply my chance to return the favour.
A small thing I am asking for...
I have been behind the decks for the last 15 years. My strengths as a DJ live in the music and in finding technical solutions to real problems — which is exactly how CrateSync came to be.
What I'm less good at? Marketing. Spreading the word.
So getting this tool to DJs all over the world is a task which we all need to
address together.
